Hey all, apologies for the lack of activity, irl has been hectic to say the least. Want to start off by saying a colossal THANK YOU to everyone that has helped out over the last month. You've all been fantastic and every little bit of support from messages to financial has helped out far more than you could imagine. I've spent the last several months being told by legal reps, ex-colleagues/ etc that I should've dropped everything and just crawled off into the sunset rather than stick up for myself, but you've all given me the breathing space and mental first aid I needed to push through, to the point I've been able to force a settlement to resolve things. Hey folks. Apologies for being a bit of a downer, but needs must. Those of you that know me well enough will be aware of some irl issues I've been going through since September. Long story short, I was unlawfully dismissed by my employer. I've been going through the legal processes since then, looking to get the matter resolved, but this is one of those things that takes a long time. As a result, I've been living off my savings since the end of October. I had been hoping to be able to survive on what was saved up until matters could be resolved, but at the end of January I was told that I wouldn't be having a hearing until July at the earliest. I have enough savings to last me until March. On top of all this, I received a wonderful letter from HMRC (the government body that handles taxation in the UK) informing me that my employer hadn't subtracted the correct amount of tax from my pay, resulting in my owing over £300 in taxes for 2022/2023.
